Flatulence

During bloating, the air is experienced in the intestines, which i.a. can lead to a distended and sore stomach. Flatulence is one of the many symptoms associated with digestive problems. It is a great inconvenience to the person and can affect everyday life so much that chores must be planned according to the condition of the stomach. Imbalances are often seen in digestion, which results in the fermentation of the foods that are ingested.

SYMPTOMS

Stomach pain, distended stomach and increased air circulation, due to air in the intestines. Some people experience worsening of symptoms such as reflux (acid regurgitation and heartburn).

TREATMENT IN THE PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM

If bloating occurs along with other symptoms, e.g. diarrhea, it is possible that the doctor will test for gluten or lactose intolerance. Otherwise, the diagnosis is most often made as irritable bowel syndrome.

CAUSES

There can be several causes of bloating such as impaired digestive function, a frequent and high intake of refined foods with low nutrient content, processed foods, dyes, additives and a high intake of nonfood such as sweets. As a result, it is suspected that food reactions, overgrowth of fungi and bacteria, insufficient production of digestive enzymes, too little stomach acid and too few lactic acid bacteria can occur. It is all physiological conditions that can interfere with digestion and cause bloating. But even a diet high in difficult-to-digest and easily fermentable carbohydrates will most often increase the formation of flatulence.?

NORDIC CLINICS TREATMENT

Treatment at Nordic Clinic will uncover the causes as well as provide advice and dietary guidance that not only focuses on the current problem but which will also provide tools to strengthen health in the future. Since the bacterial flora of the gut plays an important role in the function of the gut, one of the most relevant tests is a stool sample, which will be able to detect imbalances, overgrowth of bacteria, fungi or parasites. The imbalances can be, for example, a lack of lactic acid bacteria, digestive enzymes and stomach acid.

Likewise, laboratory analyzes can show whether there is increased intestinal permeability, inflammation, lactose intolerance, sucrose intolerance and increased permeability in the lining of the stomach. A food intolerance analysis can be used that shows which foods are reacted to, for example, gluten.
